Exams are quickly approaching. I have spent most of this week writing my final paper and studying for my final exam. 6 weeks went by quickly. I had the opportunity to meet people from all over the world, and engage in an educational experience with students and instructors from various backgrounds. I also had some of the most fun days/nights of my life. The weather here got really nice this week. It was in the mid/upper 70s, perfect for the beach or park. The food here is awesome, too! I will really miss 7-11 convenience stores. We have them in the USA, but I think they're a little better in Copenhagen :)

Today we took a trip to Helsingor, Denmark to visit Kronborg Castle, and a few other cites. The castle has a lot of amazing history about the Kingdom of Denmark. It really made me realize that USA is relatively young compared to the rest of the world. The castle was built in the 1400s. There have been several kings and queens to live there over the centuries. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the history, and it was very interesting. Afterwards we had lunch at an Italian restaurant that was so delicious! We spent the rest of the day touring the city. We visited a palace and we were able to get some really great pictures from a high view. You can also see Sweden from the castle shore. Friday night we went dancing at a club called Zen, near Norreport. We had a lot of fun dancing the night away!

Last night we had a Danish folk dancing lesson, and it was one of the most fun things I've done since I've been here. We learned several traditional Danish folk dances, and it was so much fun! At first I was apprehensive- but after I was pulled in by one of the dance instructors, I realized that it's ok to just be free and enjoy the lessons. Afterwards, there was a private party arranged for us at Cafe Grock. It was a good time. I walked home from the party with a few friends, and it gave me a chance to see a different part of the town I am staying in. It is truly beautiful here, and it's hard to put into words the amount of character that Copenhagen has. There has been a jazz festival going on here for about a week. Last Saturday I want to see one band perform at Nyhavn. They were really good, and they even played a few American songs I recognized. There are only 3 weeks left!

I visited the Denmark National Gallery on Wednesday. It was exciting to see collections of Danish, French, and other European art. We also celebrated the 4th of July with a barbecue! Everyone kept wishing me happy 4th of July. It was nice that my European friends remembered this special holiday for Americans. Every day gets a little easier, and I become more familiar with the city and the culture. I have visited the grocery store three times already. Today I spent quite a bit of time there and I realized that I am becoming more comfortable and feel that I can navigate pretty well on my own. I am hitting the town tonight with a few other girls that I met this week. Talk to you later!

I have finally learned the metro system and rode it by myself today (woop woop). I went shopping and to lunch at the harbor. This evening I went to dinner with my suite mate, and we met some others for a public viewing of the European football final. Espana beat Italia 4-0. I had an amazing weekend :)
Copenhagen has been no less than amazing so far! This weekend was so cool! There is a theme park in Copenhagen named Tivoli. You must go there if you are ever in Copenhagen. At Tivoli n the summer they have Fredasrock (Friday rock) where each Friday there is a different rock artist performing. I attended the show on Friday and it was great! It was almost entirely in Danish, but the energy was still relative, and I really enjoyed it. Saturday I took a trip to Malmo, Sweden. Malmo is only about a 30 minute bus ride via the Oresund bridge. It was a beautiful day for a trip! I had a great time touring the city and a little bit of the country side. I even had time to do some shopping at H&M :) Classes have been going well. They can be intense at times, but I have plenty of time to study during the week. Also the food here is great. Thursday we had an international food buffet contest. Americans won with sloppy joes! After the contest we all watched a European football (soccer) game. Italy against Germany, and Italy won. Thursday night we went to a very nice night club here named Karel. Everyone danced and partied the night away! Tonight is the final game of the season!

Tonight was the welcome barbecue and party. It was very lovely! There are people here from all over the world. Everyone is really nice. We went for a walk in the park and then to a party at club Nexus on campus. Great times and a lot of good memories. The scenery here is amazing, and so is the character. Copenhagen...simply beautiful!
